We acknowledge the Turrbal and Yuggera peoples, the Traditional Owners of the land where we gather for our symposium, and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We recognise their connection to Country and their role in caring for and maintaining Country over thousands of years.
WELCOME TO SUNNY QUEENSLAND!
The 7th International Symposium on Palaeohistology (ISPH) is taking place this week: 16—20 June 2025 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The symposium talks are held at the University of Queensland (UQ) in the Sir Llew Edwards Building on the beautiful St Lucia campus. It is Aussie winter now but you can expect nice and balmy weather in the 20°Cs. Winter is the perfect time to visit Queensland, which otherwise gets very hot and humid in the Summer. Our 2025 logo features Diprotodon optatum, the largest marsupial to have ever lived.

Palaeohistology research at UQ is conducted from the School of the Environment (palaeontology) and the School of Social Science (hominin research through archaeology and palaeoanthropology). Brisbane is home to a vertebrate palaeontology lab at Griffith University, where some palaeohistology research is also conducted.
